Fundraising Terms & Conditions

All fundraisers for FAST Australia require approval. You will be issued with a fundraising authorisation letter which will assist with your event. Apply to fundraise here.

  • The individual to whom the Letter of authority is addressed will be responsible for the event.
  • You will need to ensure the safety of the event and if required, obtain public liability insurance.  Unfortunately the Foundation cannot provide public liability insurance cover on behalf of third parties. We would suggest you liaise with your venue to obtain details of your guests’ insurance cover.
  • You will need to ensure you fulfill your obligations with the appropriate State Authority for Fundraising e.g. Office of Fair Trading in Queensland. (We hold licences in all states).
  • Upon completion of your event, please provide all funds to FAST Australia as soon as possible so that we can complete receipting requirements.  Please also provide us with a tally of any donation receipts we can provide to your attendees.
  • Please ensure that your debts are NOT incurred in the name of FAST Australia as we will not be held responsible for any debt that we do not guarantee.

Complying with local and State Legislation

Different States and even different local councils have regulations about what you can and can't do in their jurisdiction. To make sure your event ticks all the right boxes, make sure you check with your relevant local council and agency below.

Receipts

FAST is registered as a charitable organisation and is registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). This means that FAST can provide tax-deductible receipts to any person who makes a donation over $2.00.

As you fundraise please keep track of donations using our Donations Tracking Spreadsheet. Once your fundraising activity is complete please email the spreadsheet to treasurer@cureangelman.org.au.

Receipts will be emailed out from FAST within 30 days of receiving the donations spreadsheet.

What is the difference between a donation & purchasing a ticket?

If attendees or donors at an event are receiving something for their money; i.e. a ticket to an event or an item in a silent auction, then those monies are not tax deductible and a donation receipt cannot be issued by FAST Australia.  Monies received without reciprocation are donations, and tax deductible receipts can be provided.  However if you wish to add a donation portion onto your ticket prices, and that money is received by FAST Australia, we can issue a tax deductible donation for this portion. Any queries about this, please contact treasurer@cureangelman.org.au.
